The FIE Hydrometer Kit:
As a racer, I've used those other hydrometer kits and they are just not optimal for the task at hand. So, I found premium alternatives to every component and put them all together into one kit for about the same price. This kit is clearly better in terms of durability, readability, and accuracy.Features:
- Large padded polyethylene case is fuel-proof and unlike those brittle wooden cases, will not shatter if dropped
- Custom die-cut foam liner protects components.
- Large diameter beaker is easier to pour into and less prone to tipping over.
- Rugged stainless steel dial thermometer is easy to read and has no mercury to separate like a standard glass thermometer. The bezel is fuel-proof.
- Hydrometers are finely graduated for easy, accurate readings.
- Complete with nitro chart and instructions.

$1892 hydrometers of your choice, thermometer, beaker, padded case, instructions, chart.
$1691 hydrometer of your choice, thermometer, beaker, padded case, instructions, chart. If you're not into nitro and only want to test your gasoline or methanol, this is the kit for you.
$149Individual components:
$39 - Thermometer: Rugged stainless steel, easy to read dial
$20 - Hydrometers: Your choice of Gas & Methanol, 2-35%, 32-60%, or 60-100% nitro
$29 - Large beaker
$69 - Padded polyethylene case: holds up to 4 hydrometers, thermometer and beaker
Because of the finely graduated nature of the hydrometers, it takes four of them to cover the entire range of 0-100% nitro. Most folks will only ever use two of these, one to test their methanol, and a different one to test their mixed load.
These hydrometers are not cheap imported junk! They are serialized, NIST traceable and made in the USA.
