Magneto Service

We are a "factory trained" Mallory Authorized Magneto Service Center and also service other brands such as MSD, Vertex, Wico, Harmon & Collins, etc.

We also perform check-ups, service and rotation changes to MSD ProMags including the 20 amp upgrade for ProMag 12's.

Our typical magneto freshen-up service includes the following:

Disassembly and Inspection - We check the bearings, the windings, look for carbon tracks, test for shorts, check the condenser capacitance, and generally look for anything that could possibly become a problem on the track. Everything is completely cleaned and any rust or corrosion is taken care of. We leave no stone unturned!

Magnet Charging - For the models that require recharging, we recharge them back to full strength.

New contact points - Every Mallory mag receives a new set of genuine Mallory contact points.

Run-in/Output testing - Once your mag is back together, it is run in to ensure that everything is correct and to put a little time on the contact point rubbing block. The point gap is reset, the edge gap and rotor phasing is adjusted, and then the mag is run through the RPM range to check for spark stability, current and voltage. Finally, the output is checked at the standard 2500 engine RPM and recorded for your records on a test report. If a transformer was supplied with the mag, we test its health and then use it in the mag output test for real-world numbers.

Do you have an old mag laying around that could use an output upgrade? We can upgrade any Super Mag II or III to a IV or V. Hop-ups and output upgrades are no problem.
We can DOUBLE the output of your standard OAC (internal coil) Vertex mag very economically.
Pick up an old mag off Ebay and need the rotation changed and things freshened up? No problem!
